Job Description

Tasks

  • Interview inmates to assess adjustment problems
  • Prepare reports or case histories
  • Administrative and office activities
  • Assess offenders’ prospects for successful reintegration into the community
  • Perform administrative tasks
  • Plan rehabilitation programs with offenders, establishing rules of conduct, goals and objectives
  • Implement life skills workshops
  • Plan rehabilitation programs with offenders
  • Refer offenders to community and social services programs
  • Liaise with the inmates’ families and contacts in the community
  • Advise and counsel inmates regarding their problems
  • Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs
  • Interview probationer and parolees regularly to evaluate their progress
  • Conduct follow-up assessments
  • Evaluate offenders’ progress
  • Recommend actions when probation or parole is violated
  • Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community
  • Housekeeping activities
